Importance of Akshay Tritiya: 7th May 2019

Akshay Tritiya is a day of prosperity and new happy beginnings which is falling on May 7th this year. Lord Parshurama, the sixth avatar of Lord Vishnu was born on this day. It is a very auspicious day for wealth and happiness.
This day is eternal and hence a very lucky day for buying gold as that signifies that your wealth will never diminish.
Rishi Ved Vyas started writing Mahabharata on this day, a mammoth task. This in itself explains the importance of this day.
Goddess Ganga came down to earth on this day and till this day nourishes us.
Lord Krishna on this day gave ‘Akshay Patra’ (a bowl in which food never finishes) to Pandavas in exile. This was to ensure that they never go without food and even for giving food to others in charity.
In astrology both Sun and Moon are exalted on this day. This in itself is a very auspicious event as they are our luminaries and also signify our father and mother. Their blessing is needed for good luck and keeping us protected in every way.
This year even Venus the significator of opulence and diamonds (wealth of highest order) is exalted, making this day even more auspicious.
It is a day of great luck and fortune f or starting a business, for getting married, to start construction and to do charity.
Like Lord Krishna and Sudama, who despite their financial difference were the epitome of love and friendship . Sudama out of his love carried ‘Sattu’ for his friend but on seeing his status as a king was reluctant to give it to him. Lord Krishna understood his dilemma and lovingly ate what his friend brought him. Sudama did not mention his financial difficulty and did not ask for any help but on returning home saw a palace where his old home was. This was Krishna’s way of helping his friend without asking. This shows that charity too has to be done with grace.
This explains the day beautifully as wealth is created for self and also helping people less privileged than you.
