Lord Vishnu came in the form of Bhagwan Ram in his seventh Avatar.He was called "Purushottam" because He was the best of humans. He taught us all to live in a code of conduct ( Maryada).
It is very interesting to note that people who pray to Lord Ram follow a very disciplined life and are more conscious of their duties and responsibilities. He is a perfect example of how a human being should be on earth.
